As a Coach
Barry has been coaching professionally since 1996 and is both certified by Erickson College International and internationally accredited by the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). His specialty is working with change and conflict often in extreme or hostile situations in small and large groups. His passion is supporting committed people in transforming their lives and steadily raising their performance threshold even when overcoming deeply rooted long term issues. Barry has coached individuals, families and groups with corporate, professional and private challenges.
As a Trainer and Facilitator
For more than 30 years Barry has been extremely successful training individuals aged six to sixty-six in a diverse range of subjects. He’s taught Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice to kids, Fire Science to firefighters, to Coaching, Ethics and Clean Process to coaches and teaching mentoring to Mentor Coaches. He has also trained other service providers such as teachers, counsellors, fire instructors, members of the RCMP, and youth care workers. Barry always impassions participants to explore, challenge, and stretch to be their absolute best in that moment in time while striving to become better overall.
Barry has been part of the Erickson College International Faculty since 2007. He teaches The Art and Science of Coaching both on-line and in person. Under his own business, Pacific Change Mentors, Barry also teaches advanced graduate level coaching courses that he has developed as well as trainings for individuals and companies wanting to redevelop their relationship with time and tasks (personal and corporate overwhelm).
As a member of the business community
Barry’s experience in the business community is long and varied. He has more than 10 years experience as both a middle and upper level manager. He has extensive experience working in and with government, private and non-profit sectors.
As a Professional Mentor
Barry has been on the Erickson College Mentoring Team since 2007. He not only mentors graduate Erickson coaches as part of their training, he is also involved in teaching new mentors. Barry is also certified to mentor coaches wishing to become accredited by the International Coach Federation through the portfolio route.
As a Mediator
Although presently Barry currently only mediates in conjunction with his coaching practice, he has been a professional mediator since 1997 and has in excess of 3,000 direct mediation hours. Recently he has been asked to begin mediating Ethics Complaints with the International Coach Federation.
As a Speaker
Barry is available for keynotes, breakouts and half or full day workshops.
Professional Qualifications
In addition Barry also has training in Expressive Therapies, Family Risk Assessments, Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, Sexual Attitude Reassessment, Working With Clients with Post-Traumatic Stress, Working with Sexually Exploited and Traumatized Youth and Adults, Effects of Trauma and Non-Attachment on Children in Families and is presently working on his Professional Designation as a Trainer.
Barry is an individual living life in appreciation and to its fullest. He loves spending time with his son Joshua and his wife Kim. Other joys in his life include rock climbing, cycling, sailing and giving back to his community with the Canadian Auxiliary Coast Guard. |
